Domaine Beauséjour sits on the slopes of the Cher River across Noyers-sur-Cher and Saint-Romain-sur-Cher in the Touraine appellation. The estate's 20 hectares were farmed by the Trotignon family for five generations. Arnaud and Sibylle Lechat acquired it in June 2022 with a clear intention to continue the farming approach and quality standards the estate was built on.
FARMING AND WINEMAKING
The vineyards are farmed sustainably, with natural grass cover between rows and controlled yields. The goal is vine balance, which in practice means not pushing for volume.
In the cellar, fermentations run at low temperatures to preserve aromatic character. The wines age on their lees in stainless steel — eight months for Les Grenettes — which builds texture without introducing oak.
VINEYARD
The estate's 20 hectares sit on the hillsides above the Cher River across Noyers-sur-Cher and Saint-Romain-sur-Cher. The two communes have distinct soil profiles — chalky clay on one side, sandy soils over clay with flint on the other. For Sauvignon Blanc, chalky soils drive mineral character; the sandy, flinty parcels contribute freshness and aromatic complexity. At 200 feet in elevation, the sites have temperature moderation that allows the grape to ripen without losing its edge.
